Recordings from 4/16/11 Mass

Mass this evening seemed especially reverent.  Perhaps it was the starkness of the atmosphere after the reading of the Passion.  When the Gospel Acclamation was finished, I turned off the organ and closed it.  The rest of Mass was a capella.

Psalm - My God, My God, Why Have You Abandoned Me

Sing My Tongue The Savior's Glory

We sing this every week, but the recorder usually gets put away beforehand:

Thanks, TH2.

The device in question is a bit too rich for my blood, but very, very cool. Yes, I do way too much (legal) copying for my own good, but it's better than buying an iPad for each of the choir members. :) Husband has an iPad, which I used to read medical websites after my last hospitalization.

(My dirty secret is that despite the degree and all, I'm a bit of a technological Luddite. Go figure.)

I attended an organ recital a few months ago where the organist scanned all his music onto a computer, then played from a monitor on the music rack. He pushed a button with his foot to turn pages. That's a lot of work just to avoid having a page turner.
