Listen to the congregation on God of Our Fathers. There were fewer than 75 people in the church, but you'd never know it. That there's a singin' congregashun. :)
I lassoed Steve after seeing Catholic bumper stickers on his car one day after he left our Sight Singing and Dictation class. He was the guy in class with "THE VOICE", so I was thrilled that he said he'd sing with us. Later, I noticed that Steve was driving a different car with no bumper stickers. I still haven't asked him about it, but perhaps Providence lent a hand in the matter. He's a music education major hoping to teach voice some day. He regularly performs in Opera Theater at the university.
I agree with you completely about Mary Catherine's soaring voice on God of Our Fathers, and told her so after we sang it. She does a wonderful job, and we are blessed to have her.
A note about God of our Fathers: after the 9:00 a.m. Mass, I was informed that there's usually an interlude between the verses. I looked in the blue book and Lo! a two-bar interlude was noted. So at the 11:00 a.m. Mass, I inserted the trumpetty interlude. I probably confused poor Fr. Pat, but he handled it fine. :)

Woohoo God of Our Fathers! I think it's one of my favorites that we do!
And it definitely sounds like there were more people there!
Steve has a very mature voice...where has he been before now?
Mary Catherine's soprano is wonderful on God of Our Fathers. With her voice and the crescendo of the organ, it is a very moving piece.

Listening late again. Thank you.
Thanks for listening, TH2. Now that the quarter has started, I'm working on several new organ pieces. Hoping to post some new ones soon.
