Recordings from 5/7/11

I played three preludes--the first three pieces in the Nicholas de Grigny Ave Maris Stella versets.  I haven't learned the fourth one well enough yet, but will play these versets (alternating with Gregorian chant) for my senior recital.  I forgot to start the recorder for the first verset, but remembered to ask Three to start it before the Fugue.

I had no voice thanks to a virus, so Stephen and Mary Catherine did the Introit alone.  They sound so good that I may just keep quiet in the future.

The recorder stopped for an unknown reason (probably the memory was full), so I didn't get the rest of Mass recorded.  Some day I'll figure that thing out!

Brahms, Bach, Brühns, and Alain

I'm playing for my parents' 59th anniversary Mass in a few weeks.  I recorded these so that they could hear what I'm planning.  Page turns etc. have been edited out, but mistakes haven't!  I've not recorded these before, so there's definitely some shaping to be done on a few of these (it's amazing what you can hear on a recording that's not obvious when playing), and first I must figure out how to make the Praeludium more carefree than frantic.  But here they are anyway.

I'm starting to learn this piece, and it may close my Senior Recital. My dream is to play it on an organ that sounds even half as good as this one.
