This is Laetare Sunday, so we'll have a prelude and postlude, and the hymn organ registrations will be bolder than those normally used during Lent.
"Laetare" is Latin for "Rejoice". The name is taken from the Introit/Entrance Antiphon:
"Rejoice, Jerusalem! Be glad for her, you who love her; rejoice with her, you who mourned for her, and you will find contentment at her consoling breasts."
Just in case I have anyone policing the orthodoxy of my music selections, "Anglican Use Gradual" is NOT Anglican; it is Catholic.
Introit: p. 82 of Anglican Use Gradual
Processional: Rejoice, The Lord is King (BB 742)
Psalm: Stephen
Offertory: Jesu, Joy of Our Desiring (BB 521) (Re-worded gender-neutral songs are ANNOYING.)
Communion: Lenten psalm
Recessional: Take Up Your Cross (BB 732)
