Random Things of the Day

I was thinking about writing something deep and insightful, but never got around to it. Sometimes I think I have Attention Deficit Di--ooh, a Corvette!

So, while I mull over whether to attempt something insightful, I bring you "Random Things of the Day", a new installment in which I bring you...random things. During the day. And sometimes the night. Or something.

A kitten. I love kittens. They're adorable. I just want to give them hugs.

And...yeah. I've got nothing else to say.

Dear Celestine,

I am most interested in the method of selection for the content of this post. Two Dream Theater videos, a kitten, and yet you never allude to the beginning of the post and give us a Corvette? I was hoping for a 1996 Grand Sport, Admiral Blue with single Arctic White stripe and the dual fender hash marks.

I can dream, can't I?

Dear Celestine,

No, no, no. That is a Chevrolet Corvette C6. That generation has been produced since 2004, with model years from 2005 to at least 2012. The 1996 Corvette Grand Sport was a model produced to celebrate the last batch of C4s, which started production in 1983 for the 1984 model year.

A C6 version of the Grand Sport exists, but that's not quite the same. The one pictured is a base model anyway.

Not to split hairs or anything, but they aren't the same.

Well, I did say "sorta". :-)

Sorta, schmorta. Here, let me help you:

I also humbly acknowledge that I have messed up in omitting the most famous of all Grand Sports, the original from 1963. It was made to contest the Shelby Cobra's dominance in sports car racing, a mission in which it met with limited success, until the 427 Cobra was produced. Then the GM executives pulled the plug on the corporate racing program.

Dr. Foosball, may I humbly suggest that you prepare a post, with the subject of your choosing, for this blog?

I am very sorry, but I do believe my rantings are only readable to anyone but myself in short excerpts.
