Recordings from 6/5/10 Mass

Psalm - You Are A Priest Forever

We worked on this polyphonic piece for the entire quarter:

O bone Jesu, miserere nobis,
quia tu creasti nos,
tu redemisti nos sanguine
tuo pretiosissimo.

Translation:
Alleluia, Sing to Jesus O good Jesus, have mercy upon us,
for thou hast created us,
thou hast redeemed us
by thy most precious blood.

The Monteverdi piece was absolutely beautiful! Your parish, I hope, are grateful for the SATURDAY Schola.

Merci, my dear TH2. Your comments about the music are a great encouragement to me.

While getting a group photo, I overheard our priest tell the choir that people had complimented the music. He usually doesn't say anything to me about it though; Husband says that he probably assumes that I should know.

Yay! Not bad at all! :)

To go from practice Thursday to THAT on Saturday evening is pretty good me thinks!

Very glad to hear that persons noticed. It is an incident like that where, after listening, people begin to think that the Mass is something much more than a obligatory "community gathering".

MCK, I was amazed at the progress. You all did a terrific job.

TH2, I hope you're right about how the congregation may be affected. My observation is that, as a whole, the vigil attendees tend to be focused on Christ and not the "assembly" (at least as much as I dare to ascertain.)
