Cat practical jokes

For thirteen years, two cats graced our outdoors. Much appreciated mousers they were. Last year, one got smooshed in the road. Soon after, a large feline showed up and finally let me pet him after a few months. He was a friendly chap who deferred to the resident old lady cat, and was really quite gorgeous. I think that at some point he was a house cat; he's one of those guys who'll let the mean human hold him up under the front legs and make him do a Mexican hat dance, and he won't snap at all.

About six weeks ago, we noticed a black kitty coming around, and I wondered for his/her safety, since our new large cat was protective of his space. However, it seemed that love was in the air......did I mention that he's not neutered?

So I laughed heartily from the belly, since obviously if this cat with the low-hanging belly was impregnated, she'd go home to birth the kittens, and we'd sit back innocently, completely "unaware" of the tryst. Foolproof plan, I'd say!

Guess who's not laughing now?  The little boogers are so cute.

And apparently that black cat lives under our deck.
