Enough to make General Patton go, "Awww!"

Now, officially I call this video life-affirming and a wonderful example of what happens when science is used for good. Unofficially, it's "so cute that my brain might explode".

Adorable. Just. Adorable. Oh. My. Gosh. So. Cute. Can. Hardly. Think.

Long story short, this baby was born deaf and had cochlear implants put in. This video is of the baby--Jonathan--hearing his mummy's voice for the first time.

This video is also, apparently, two years old, making Jonathan now almost three years old. It's only making headlines--one, to my knowledge--now, but that doesn't diminish the sheer cuteness of the video.

Hat-tip to CMR

I've been watching cochlear implant videos all afternoon now. So cute!

That sheer love in his eyes at his mama's voice! Bliss...

I've known one little girl who was nearly 3 months old before her mother discovered she was deaf. She has an implant and is mainstreamed. (I love ASL, but most people don't know it. I know three signs. Beauty, Love and Thank you.)

First--sorry for the delay in responding.

MCK--I know...it's a major time sink, especially with that little cutie.

Lola--Once upon a time I started to teach myself sign language. I learned how to sign my name (no pun intended), and then...promptly forgot almost everything else. I hope the little girl of your acquaintance is doing well!
