Scene: The front of a church, as Fr. Eric greets parishioners after Sunday Mass. Fr. Eric is sporting a fantastically beautiful lightweight chasuble in a dark purple and black damask brocade.
Me, touching fabric: "This is gorgeous!"
Fr. Eric: "Ebay fabric!"
Me, shocked (don't know why - I've gotten lots of goodies on ebay): "Really? And then you had someone sew it for you?"
Fr. Eric: "I did it. I put a hem on it and cut a hole in the middle."
Me: *speechless*
This lends new meaning to the term "Man of the Cloth".

Priests have to be innovative these days. I guess that is because most suppliers of priestly garb only sell stuff like that profiled at this blog: http://badvestments.blogspot.com/
AWESOME! Sounds like I should make a trip to Fr. Eric's here soon... :)
TH2, I did not know about that site, and now I feel kinda dirty.
MCK, I'd say let's go this Sunday, except I'd have to go there AGAIN Monday afternoon. Perhaps you could get together a caravan of CSO peoples, though. I simply cannot say enough good things about Fr. Eric; I love that priest.
Youth group this Sunday at 12:15 (only one this month!), but perhaps next Sunday - or during Spring quarter! Might be able to spearhead something here :)
Celestine reminded me about youth group after I posted that comment. But we'll definitely do it soon. I'll check the bulletin to see when the next coffee&donut Sunday is, so that we can all chat with him.
TH2, I hope you weren't offended by my comment; I actually thought the site was very funny and entertaining, especially the "flames" vestment near the top of the page.
Now Mary, you are sounding kinda PC now, as I was a few posts back. Not offended at all.
Please feel free to insult me, issue profanities against my person, get angry at Canada, and so forth... not at all taken personally.
