Well well well. I haven't visited my own blog in some time, so here I am to fill you in on mundane details of my life. And I know you have better things to do, so don't feel obligated to finish reading this post.
First of all, my dear Heresy Hunter (who is brilliant and entertaining, so visit his blog) has asked about my sister, which I sincerely appreciate. She is doing well, considering the trauma she's been through, and there's no further sign of cancer. Right now she's fighting a staph infection, but she'll come through it just fine. She is a tough lady, although a person probably wouldn't guess it because she's so doggone sweet and beautiful! The surgeon told her to expect her recovery to take a year. File THAT one under "things the doctor doesn't tell you until AFTER your procedure".
(The biggest surprise for me under that category was when Three of Seven got a Herbst appliance put over her braces. AFTER it was put on, I was told, "she probably won't be able to put her teeth together for a week." Thanks for letting me know, champ! The truth was, she couldn't bite down or chew anything for a MONTH. Poor thing - she couldn't afford to be tinier than she was. I made lots of smoothies that month.)
I got my grades: A's in everything EXCEPT conducting, in which I received a B+. However, I have serious doubts that the professor has even reviewed the Final video tapes (he wasn't in town during the final). He told us, in writing, that he would have reviews to us by December 3. University grades were sent out December 2. No, I still don't have his review. I DID write to him, however, and express my surprise at my grade. I KNOW I did better than that; I prepared thoroughly and video-taped myself! Sigh.
Last but not least, I had some fun, happy, and joyful medical procedures performed this week that were supposed to be "routine", but really took a LOT out of me. As of today, I'm feeling human again. (Side note: while under anesthesia, I was dreaming that I was auto racing. Funny!)
Speaking of racing, we DID get that Ford Mustang Shelby GT, and we're THRILLED with it. So far, I have managed to not get busted for drag racing or speeding.

All fairly good news! (Apart from the nasty side effects of your joyful medical procedures and that blasted B+. Hope you hear back from your professor soon!)
Miss you guys lots!
Hey MCK, we miss you too! I thought of you this morning when I looked at the thermometer; we seem to have a arctic high pressure area over us, and it's 13 degrees F! Enjoy your break at home! And doggone it, I've never been to SC, so tell your parents to expect me someday. :)
I STILL haven't received my conducting review.
Thanks for the link, Mary.
1. Very pleased to hear about the recovery of your sister. Since you said that there will be more time for her full recovery, I will pray to and ask St. Peregrine, patron saint of cancer patients, to keep an eye on her... and, of course, Our Lady.
2. Also, very happy to hear about about your super excellent marks re: organ. On the mark you got for conducting, you said "I KNOW I did better than that". Now contrast this statement with a statement in your November 5 post: "Dear God... will you please give me a little talent for the job" Interesting. It seems that Mary has quite a truckload of talent. Let us know what the prof says in regard to your query - if you so wish.
3. You got the car! Now that is neato. Stopped by the cops for speeding yet? When's your first drag race?
Cancel no 3 where TH2 mentions drag racing and speeding. You already answered the question. Please forgive him. Bad focus today.
TH2,
1. Thanks for the continued prayers for my sister Jeanie; I appreciate it VERY much.
2. No fair looking up old blog posts and using my own words against me. LOL. I still haven't heard from my prof. ANNOYING.
3. My only mercifully brief drag race was at night on a long entrance ramp, where I absolutely had to slow down to make a 90 deg. turn. The driver of the other modified Mustang seemed disappointed that I didn't continue the race on the highway. I was behind him on the street prior to that, so I saw he was a relatively young guy. I imagine he would have been quite disappointed to know that I'm a middle-aged woman. As I continued driving home, I realized how stupid that was; I can't afford a ticket and a 6-point driving offense. (But it was actually fun. Shhhh - don't tell anyone I said that. But even my grandmother was a wannabe race car driver, so I blame her for my speed-lovin' ways.)
A grandmother that wanted to be a race car driver, a daughter who was going to join the AF to fly fighters...what an eccentric bunch, we!
