You -- yes YOU -- are invited!

Betcha didn't know that 2008 is the INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF THE ORGAN!! And to celebrate, the Southeast Ohio Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will be hosting the Pipe Organ Spectacular on October 19, 2008.

I -- yes I -- am one of the featured organists. At Galbreath Chapel, I'll be playing the awesome and wonderful Choral III in A Minor by Cesar Franck. Aditionally, choir member Ross Schmittgen and I will be playing an organ/oboe piece written specifically for the International Year of the Organ.

Flowers, chocolates, and preferential treatment will be given to any choir member who attends; just mention this ad.

For more info, go to the Southeast Ohio AGO Chapter website.

What! No tambourine? No timpani? No--xylophone?

Porky t. F.S.,

You, oh brilliant one, have given me an idea for a quartet......

Great! My brother (Danny the Levitating Banjoist) and I can play two instruments each! So all in all, we have tambourine, timpani, xylophone, harmonica, banjo, electric frisbeeator...that makes four, right? In a quarter? Maybe I can get my sister (Deedo the Floating Krummyhornist) to play the Cantonese Horn. It's absolutely invigorating!

Let's use my tenor banjo instead of the harmonica. It has a lot of spider webs inside and a little water damage, but I think it still sounds pretty good. That's what I get for leaving it on the front porch!

What! No harmonica? What will provide the sweet, tunefully harmonic sounds, echoing the strains of something out of Schoenberg's masterpiece Lulu?

Ah...Porky...Lulu is by Webern...

What? It cannot be! I cannot trust anything any longer! Nooo!

Porky,

Calm down, dear one. These are challenging times. We are at a crossroads; the choices we make now will forever influence our future. And our future's future. Don't give up hope. OH -- my sea bass is burning.....

Sea bass goes wonderfully with liver.
