Oy vey. It seems as though if you are working in a Diocese in a position where you should be promoting the authentic Catholic faith.. then you should be promoting THE AUTHENTIC CATHOLIC FAITH and not some version of it that fits your lifestyle. I just wonder why it took 35 years for someone to actually take a stand for the true Faith and actually terminate her position.

It seems quite logical to me:

SUPPOSED CATHOLIC TEACHER + NOT UPHOLDING THE AUTHENTIC TEACHINGS OF THE CHURCH = THE MESS AND CONFUSION WE HAVE TODAY

It's about time someone took a stand...

Anonymous,

I heartily agree. The damage that she caused in those 35 years must be staggering. And she's only one person! I believe that there are many like her, still in their positions, wreaking havoc even now.

Sounds like Noodle is throwin' down the Gauntlet...Athenian style.

Let's hope that things will change in the VERY near future with some new leadership in Athens... with a new vision. If only I could hear back from a priest...

Our needs are quite simple: the Catholic faith taught by people who actually believe it IN ITS ENTIRETY.

A few years back, Bishop Robert Vasa (Baker, Oregon) required all catechists, Extraordinary Ministers, Lectors, etc. to sign their names on a document saying that they agreed with and believed in particular Catholic beliefs. I'll post it if I can find it. Anyway, he lost a few people (including Extraordinary Ministers!). I hope that they reflected on their dissent and eventually changed their minds. But hey, we all have free will, right?

Amen. We can't be supermarket Catholics and not expect things to go to pot because we're not standing up for what we believe in any longer...

My my... Bishop Vasa's document is AWESOME! (maybe this belongs on the other Comment thread) The last two pages are SWEET!
